About DEA
DEA is geographically enormous. It covers all of Mindanao and Visayas islands and partly Luzon, the Bicol Region. Mindanao is comprised of six (6) regions, Twenty-Seven (27) Provinces, Thirty-Three (33) cities, Four Hundred Twenty-Two (422) municipalities and Ten Thousand and Eighty Four (10,084) barangays. Visayas covered Three (3) regions, Sixteen (16) provinces, Thirty Nine (39) Cities, Three Hundred Sixty Nine (369) municipalities and Eleven Thousand Four Hundred Forty Four (11,444) barangays. On the other hand, Bicol region consists Six (6) provinces, Seven (7) cities, One Hundred Seven (107) municipalities and Three Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-One (3,471) barangays. Meanwhile, at present, the whole Davao Episcopal Area have only Two Hundred Four (204) local churches and Ninety-Four (94) Mission churches.

DEA DMO Completes Relief and Early Recovery Interventions
The Davao Episcopal Area Disaster Management Office (DEA DMO), with support from UMCOR, completed four days of relief and early recovery interventions reaching 625 families—or more than 3,100 individuals—in seven communities across five municipalities and one city affected by the Bogo Earthquake and Typhoon Tino. The Eastern Visayas District DRRM Team delivered food and WASH assistance, while additional interventions included the installation of 24 solar streetlights, a flood lamp, and three tube lights, as well as WASH facilities benefiting 75 families. Led by DEA Resident Bishop Israel M. Painit and partner organizations, the mission brought not only essential assistance but also safety, protection, and hope to communities—affirming the Church’s commitment to sharing God’s love with people in need.
